Andrew Thomas
3 Times Australian Men’s Whipcracking Champion
Andrew
Thomas has been cracking whips and twirling ropes for the past 20 years.
Andrew featured as one of the main Whip Crackers for the 2000 Opening
Ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics and also
entertained guest at the Sydney international Equestrian Centre throughout
the 2000 Games at Horsley Park.
In
2004 Andrew was awarded the Guinness Book of Records for Most Whip cracks in
1 minute with one hand – 232 cracks,
also he has gone onto become 3 times Australian Men’s Whipcracking Champion
– 1998,1999,2007.
Andrew captivated crowds
with his awesome talent at the numerous Sydney Royal Easter Shows, 2002
Sydney Mayors
New Year’s Party and was well received internationally at the 2002 New
Caledonia State Fair, Hong Kong,
Singapore Korea and China promoting the 2006/2007 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
His
entertaining performances involve traditional two handed Whipcracking
routines combined with his own tricks
such as the Hoof beats of a horse, The Steam Train, nursery rhymes, various
sports all this combined with rope spinning
and his trusty unicycle.
Andrew’s achievements have
honoured him with achieving the 2001 Australia Day Celebrations
Young Citizen of the Year, The Land 2006 rural Achiever award.
