The Thunderbirds were formed around fifteen years ago in Rockhampton, Queensland. Playing a mixture of classic blues and rock from the sixties through to the present day, the band's formula is simple… happy music you can dance and sing along to. The band has a vast repertoire ranging from the Shadows to ACDC and everything in between. With the combination of George’s blues guitar riffs, Grahame’s funky bass grooves and Pete’s solid drumming, the band can cover a wide variety of music genres.

The band also has a unique situation, where all three members share the lead vocal, George has a very sixties Beatles/Dire Straights voice. Grahame handles the smooth mellow vocals (blues and ballads), and Pete is left with the screamers (Joe Cocker, Jimmy Barnes etc.) So by swapping vocals the three part harmonies always sound different depending on the song (Beatles/Eagles/Joe Cocker).

Thunderbirds have played all over Queensland at gigs ranging from corporate dinners and weddings, to large rock and blues festivals. The band’s song list is so large people often call out songs or bands at random and there’s a good chance they’ll get to hear what they came for.
