String Fever
String Fever is a
unique, high energy, modern cabaret, starring wife and husband team
Jacqueline and Brenton Edgecombe.
With their upbeat sense of fun and
theatre, the dynamic duo create a fast-paced kaleidoscope of instrumentals,
singing and comedy
– a thousand miles from their beginnings as symphony
orchestra members and session musicians!
From
country hits like Devil Went Down to Georgia, to Irish reels to Elton John…
acrobatic trick-fiddling, sentimental ballads and audience participation
–
String Fever’s show is sometimes beautiful, sometimes hilarious, and always
entertaining!
Winners of five MO
Awards, ‘Qantas Peter Allen Variety Performers of the Year’ and six ACE
Awards, including ‘Club Entertainers of the Year’, String Fever have spent
most of the past eight years travelling the world on international cruise
ships. From the luxurious QE2 to the intimate six-star yachts of Silversea
and Seabourn lines,
String Fever have earned wide acclaim from American and
European audiences, developing new and original material, never before seen
in Australia.
Hear String Fever’s graphic musical portrait of a traditional Spanish bullfight, and a reverent and emotional rendition of our unofficial national anthem “Waltzing Matilda”. String Fever will pay tribute to Topol’s recent Australian season of “Fiddler on the Roof” and breathe new life into classical favourites like “Flight of the Bumblebee”.
Prior to the formation
of String Fever in 1998, Brenton and Jacqui were highly active orchestral
and session musicians.
Between them they have played with four of this
country’s major Symphony Orchestras, and have backed acts like Ray Charles,
Shirley Bassey and Meatloaf,
and toured with the orchestra for “The Main
Event” with John Farnham, Anthony Warlow and Olivia Newton John.
Join String Fever for some red-hot entertainment - they’re burning for your company!
