Ingrid
Mae is a performer who is a little tricky to label. Her music packs a punch
with her anthem inspired vocals
yet she is equally at home in a beautiful ballad.
Ingrid Mae is inspired by the women who pioneered rock yet
with beautiful vulnerability drawn from blues and country.
Music has always been a big part of her life, her love of
performing grew at a early age singing in her father’s band
and playing the organ. She fronted several cover bands and with a corporate
career her songwriting always took the back seat.
It was not until the recording her first independently
released album Sugarcoated in 2015,
that she let her song writing consume her and her real country music journey
began.
“The first album was a melting pot for me. When it came to
people putting a genre on it,
it always came back to my country vocal” says Ms Mae.
Inspired by artists such as Brookes and Dunn and Lady
Antebellum,
Ingrid Mae’s vocals have been compared to the likes of Melissa Etheridge and
Jennifer Nettles.
Her approach to song writing is heartfelt and prolific, spawning a body of
material she is eager to release.
You can catch Ingrid Mae’s signature sound at shows across
regional NSW as well as festivals
including the Nellijam Winter Breaker Country Party, Woodstock and the
upcoming Country Rocks Festival Sydney
where she will play alongside a star studded line-up.
“I just want to make great songs and stay true to who I am.”
