Australian Celtic Music awards 2013-14 , Album and Song of
the year
Saoirse are a Celtic/Folk band based in
Melbourne, Australia. Saoirse bring beautiful Celtic/Folk music to a wide
audience,
with performances at festivals all over Australia as well as some of
Australia’s finest music venues.
A Saoirse performance will delight the audience with a little bit of
everything Celtic including heartfelt ballads, lively jigs, reels, and
polkas,
whilst adding their creative flavour through original songs. In 2013 Saoirse
released their third album, ‘Music Evermore’,
which received the Australian Celtic Music awards for both album and song of
the year.
They
have performed at many wonderful festivals around Australia, including, Port
Fairy, Brunswick Music Festival, The National Celtic Festival and more.
The band have
represented Ireland at the opening event for the World Cricket Cup at the
Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne.
Represented Australian Celtic music at the Festival Interqueltic de Lotient,
France.
Most recently the band very honoured to be invited to play at the reception
for the Irish President Mr Michael Higgins in Melbourne.
