Mr Baritone is Matty Bateson with his unique, powerful, diverse & warm baritone vocal tones, & acoustic guitar with loop pedal; performing great covers & the occasional original song. Matty has a professional attitude, excellent quality sound gear & live gig experience since 1999.

 Matty’s full solo repertoire consists of a wide variety of great cover songs adapted to his ideal vocal range & includes -
Top 40, Pop, Rock, Funk, Reggae, Country, Folk, Soul, Old Classics, Traditional, Gospel, Blues & a hint of Jazz; with the occasional original song of his own. People often comment on how well he covers Johnny Cash, & also Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam!
Matty can also sing very softly and through some higher tenor ranges.
Matty has always been great with the audience providing quality entertainment!

 Since 2003 Matty has been performing in & managing the well-established Covers Band, Trio & Duo “Punchline”.
He is the lead & rhythm guitarist with some lead vocals sharing with lead vocalist Jeunesse Douglas.

Music for the Over 60s

With a few years of live solo gig experience in pubs, hotels, restaurants & events;
Mr Baritone now also performs great old covers & traditional songs & Gospel songs at Aged Care Homes, RSLs, Sports Clubs & Community Clubs including “Morning Melodies” & has deep care for the elderly.

Matty volunteered for almost 2 years at Pres Care Vela Carina, then in early 2017 performed his first Aged Care solo gig there.
This went so well & inspired him to seek more gigs for the elderly there & elsewhere!
