American-born songwriter, Jay Bishoff, ran away from home
at age 16, hitchhiking to San Francisco with a friend.
He performed in California and up and down the west
coast, USA, for several years before eventually immigrating to Australia
in 1997.
Jay has impacted in Australia, both as a performer, and as a concert organizer on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.
An avid adventure traveller, Jay recently spent 3 and a
half years living and performing on the tropical island of Bali.
This worldly songwriter features impacting lyrics that connect deeply with audiences, combined with diverse guitar styles and smart arrangements.

quality covers (from the 60s to today),
Jay’s eclectic sound is coloured by: rock, folk, blues & roots, funky rhythms and world music influences. His songs often tell stories – of travel, love and loss, and heart-fuelled dreams. Jay’s performances offer a sense of shared music community: the audience is part of the music, and this performer thrives on spontaneous, living connection.
He still loves to hitchhike – most recently across
Europe.
